Justice League Blu-ray Cover Art May Rule Out Director’s Cut
It’s perhaps only fitting that a film as divisive as Justice League would spawn warring fan petitions, demanding that Warner Bros. release separate Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon cuts. Questions of whether a “Snyder cut” or a “Whedon cut” actually exists aside, it doesn’t appear the studio has plans for any alternate versions of the lowest-grossing installment of the DC Extended Universe. At least for now.
Leaked cover art for Justice League‘s Blu-ray and DVD, spotted by TrailerTrack’s Anton Volkov, makes no mention of an extended or alternate cut of the film.
“BVS and SUICIDE SQUAD Blu-rays in US/Canada had extended/alt cuts front & center,” Volkov added. “No separate Blu release for theatrical (except SS on 3D and 4K which still included the EC on Blu).” That, of course, doesn’t mean Warner Bros. won’t release an alternate version sometime later.
In the meantime, however, expect to see more fan arguments about whether “Snyder’s cut” of Justice League might’ve been much better than what was seen in theaters.
Justice League is projected to end its theatrical release with a worldwide box office of $675 million.
In theaters now, Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
